Who is this for?

Mature Worker

Participants must meet the following eligibility criteria:

Unemployed
Between 50-64, (emphasis on 55-64) and 65+ (if planning to stay in the workforce for 2 or more years)
Be legally entitled to work in Canada
Lack skills/training required for successful integration into new employment
Live in an eligible community/region
Be ready and committed to returning to work
Priority will be given to older workers involuntarily displaced as a result of downsizing or closure

What will you get?

Participants may be eligible to receive:

Class-based skill development – including job searching and career planning
Funding to access training at local educational institutions/trainers
Income support for the duration of in-class training
Targeted wage subsidy for on-the-job training (for those with an EI attachment)
